Get Tough 1943
The Classic WW-II Text on hand-to-hand fighting by William E. Fairbairn. “The methods described in this book I have carefully worked out and developed over a period of many years. They owe something to the famous Japanese judo (jiu-jutso), and something else to Chinese boxing. But, largely, they were developed from my own experience and observation of how most effectively to deal with the ruffians, thugs, bandits, and bullies of one of the roughest water-front areas in the world. Although every method described in the following pages is practicable - and so proved by the author and his students by years of experience, it is not essential to master them all. I suggest that at first you select about ten which, for reasons of your height, weight, build, etc., seem most suitable, and specialize in mastering these thoroughly.” In excellent condition with light water staining on some pages. Appleton-Century 1943 edition.

Sword and the Mind
"The techniques and disciplines presented in this classic of tactical and strategic wisdom were developed and refined by three of Japan's greatest swordsman: Kamiizumi Hidetsuna (1508-1577), who founded the Shinkage school of swordsmanship; his greatest student Yagyu Muneyoshi (1529-1606), who further perfected many of Hidetsuna's techniques; and Muneyoshi's son, Munenori (1571-1646), who set down this timeless masterpiece to be passed on from teacher to student. In this exquisite translation Hiroaki Sato brings the legacy of these three superior swordsmen to the modern Western reader. With more than 25 black-and-white illustrations, glossary, chronology, bibliography, and comprehensive annotations The Sword & the Mind illuminates the lives and times of the three masters as well as the cultural and philosophical landscape in which they lived." The Rhythm of One
Spiral bound 8.5" x 11" 150 well illustrated pages. This book is perhaps one of the most relevant and applicable books for women’s self-defense on the market. As co-author and editor, I feel that the materials and techniques presented here are feasible and even cater to the needs of women or people of smaller stature and build. We endeavored to offer situations with responses that were based more on the principles of physics and strategy than on the use of physical strength in overcoming an attacker. Also, all of the techniques, whether defensive or offensive, will work equally well for women as they will for men. Simply put, if a technique does not work for me as a small-framed, 5’ woman, against my father, a 5’6”, 185 pound man, then the technique is not worth practicing. We have sold copies in Canada, Brazil, Japan, New Zealand, Indonesia, Russia, Wales, England, Scotland, and all across teh USA.
